Pas De Deux | Couple Ballet Dance | Kevin & Sara {Mountain Denver, Colorado Ballet and Dance Photographer | Echo Lake Mount Evans Colorado}

So I'll be honest here these Colorado ballet dance photos are actually from almost two years ago, while I was in between closing my business for a year to manage health issues. But I wanted to still share them with you all because it was such a special ballet dance session near to my heart.

While I didn't grow up dancing I danced a lot of ballet in middle school and high school. I even choreographed a few pieces for my schools drama clubs. I wasn't any expert by any means but I loved dancing. I once had dreams of being a professional choreographer haha.

Flash forward to my adult life and here I am as a photographer passionate about couples. I had been taking adult ballet classes after a few years, (mhm almost a decade) of taking a break from dancing, and loving every moment of returning to a passion of mine. When my ballet teacher, who is also a soloist with Colorado Ballet, announced he was recently engaged I knew I wanted to photograph him and his fiancée haha. Guys, I get couple crushes on people, its a real photographer problem haha.

Anyway, after one class I boldly asked him if I could take photos of him and his fiancé. And guess what, he said YES! We made plans and headed out to Echo Lake Park  near Mount Evans, Colorado.

It was such a joy to capture their relationship as dancers and then as the sun progressed and the temperature  dropped too low for them to safely dance I was able to photograph them just as a couple. I just loved the contrast of their ferocity  as dancers together and their tenderness as a couple.

If you want to see them both dance in real life you can check out Kevin's side project called Thomas Dance Project or attend Colorado Ballet's next season this fall and winter.

Are you a dancer too? Let's chat I love to photograph dancers!
