Ask it it will be Given
Last friday was beyond epic. Heading out to begin the production of a promo video with Chase More Productions and two dear friends, Christen and Mikey I began to wonder if we would be rained out. The skies were very dark and we were driving straight into the storm.
We arrived at this remarkable field that sits at the edge of the Flatirons. I was almost dumb founded. The cloud cover from the storm was perfect lighting that also created amazing contrast for the now evening darkened mountain peaks.
Chase and I took our first shots. We both proclaimed pure excitement. It was incomparable to anything I've ever had the experience shooting.
Towards the end of our time in the field it started to drizzle just slightly. Enough to make for some awesome video for Chase but not enough to drown us out.
After shooting in this field we drove up to Lookout Mountain to catch the sunset. Driving through the storm everyone else had their lights on. I seriously thought, if we couldn't get any more shots than what we just got, that would totally be enough. But we kept on driving.
As we found our spot the clouds parted right around where the sun was setting. The golden light of the sunset just began. We shot on the edge of a cliff that over looks the greater Denver area, which without the time of day, storm and colors, the view would have been stunning enough.
Then, the golden light gave way to the pinks, yellows, deep blues and purples that you only see for 10 minutes every day as the day draws to sleep. It was beyond words.
Rewind 5 hours. I was a bit nervous about being the one in front of the lens for the first time since my own wedding (nearly three and half years ago). Not to mention I'd never photographed Christen and Mikey before, so wasn't sure how easy or difficult they would be to pose.
In my prep work I sat and prayed. I asked God to show His glory. I do this to show His beauty and I just prayed He would show it.
He did, of course, beyond my wildest expectations. God is so GOOD!
My shots got photo boomed a lot, but this just shows you the view we had.
I must say a special thanks to Christen and Mikey for being amazing models!
And thank you to Chase for starting this project with me. So excited to see what comes of it!
And this one ...because Photo bombing means you will be photographed.
But I must leave you with this shot. The Heaven's do declare God's greatness, indeed.
