BNC Madeline Stands Tall | Denver Photographer | Denver Wedding Photographer | Vintage Photographer
Friday night I photographed BNC's student company's performance of Madeline Stands Tall. The piece was very cute! I'm so impressed with the dancers in actually being good actors too. I feel like most young dancers have a hard time acting and dancing at the same time, but these kids were awesome! Also, very strong dancers, which is awesome! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to photograph the second act in the production because the lighting was...um, well, impossible. Black on black with a few soft spot lights. It was SO interesting to watch through my lenses but was a bit of a nightmare to photograph without being able to use auto focus. So, I didn't get to stay for all of it.
I think I've come to learn to respect photographers who have to photograph professional performances without flash and in manual focus...which by the way is the hardest thing in the WORLD to do on a moving subject...I just couldn't do it well. But I'm SO thankful for my job, in photographing weddings, because the lighting is never that dark and most of the time I can use flash. :)
But here are a few snap shots from the performance. If you were a dancer or apart of this show you can see all the photos on my website under Proofing. Email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org for the password.
