I am so glad that we've been able to keep up with these month baby photo sessions with Olive, but each month I struggle to not thinking of something totally cliche. So, you can imagine how excited I was when I came up with this idea to document what a day with Olive looks like. Of course, the day I set aside to do this with her it was cloudy and she slept in ridiculously late, which has happened, oh, twice in her life. haha. Granted, she got her shots the day before so I think that left her extra sleepy.
I didn't document everything just because setting up all the shots to capture every little thing we do is pretty difficult, but I did set up a few and after figuring out the best way to do it all was of course half way through the day. It was fun though documenting her with my actual camera instead of grabbing my iphone which is always closer and easier when I am running around the house chasing her.
I am so excited for this age though. I love her little personality and how much she is growing and learning. This month Olive has become a little better with unfamiliar faces, but still doesn't do well when she cannot see me or dad. She's eating a lot of solids and loves most everything! She is pulling up and walking using everything and anything she can hold on to. She's love babbling and is very close to saying "dad." She still loves her puppy, dancing, smiling and being silly with me or dad.
Our day begins a little like this:
After morning diaper changes and me getting ready (which I strangely did before she got up that morning) we play a little. Lately, Olive has become obsessed with doors. She loves opening and closing them. Particularly her bedroom door that has a mirror on the back of it.
And loves giving herself kisses...full drooly open mouth ones haha.
She is so ready to walk! She uses everything to walk places, and can stand for a few seconds on her own. I am thankful she is timid about things but excited for her to be able to walk!
Classic moment, pulling up on my pants wanting me to hold her or see what I'm doing. This girl is such a camera ham, she loves posing for any pictures. hahaWe spend a lot of time letting the puppy out to go potty. And we do have melt downs, when Olive doesn't get what she wants...Yes, we are doing early potty training, which is getting better and better every week. She's started to use the potty sign even when she is going #1. Which is very often so we kinda just acknowledge it but sit her there or hold her over the big potty when she has #2. The consensus is still out of this is worth it. But so far its so nice when we communicate well and mom doesn't have to clean a dirty cloth diaper! Yay!Getting dressed. Olive's other new favorite thing is playing with all of dad's books. I usually don't open this door because its drafty but it was so dark inside I did to let some light in, and so Olive and Toby just wanted to play and stare outside. I love these two.Eating breakfast while mom tries to answer emails. High chairs are the best baby sitters haha. I love her little pursed lips she makes when she is eating: so proper. ha.Then off to our first nap. It was so hard to get my camera to focus on its own for this shot because it was so dark outside thus dark inside. It was kinda a mess to take this photo because as we were nursing to sleep and Olive got so distracted by the camera going off. But it is such a sweet photo to have and well worth all the trouble it was to take.Waking up from nap time!And...because we go so much right when we wake up and mom usually changes her daiper right when she wakes up we went everywhere....so sad day we had to change her completely...Gotta love those heart-breaker eyes!
We were all thrown off from getting up so late so we ate lunch right away. Finally the sun came out!I love this one. She's such a smart girl, holding that pea! So proud she can finally actually make it to her mouth without dropping it! Yay! (It's amazing what you get excited at as a parent. haha.)Olive: "Mom, why are we taking pictures of this?"
Me: "Act natural and eat, k?" We do "nosies" aka eskimo kisses. And we do a lot of eating, apparently haha.Toby was curious about the camera firing by itself. haha. I need to make a series of all the photos he has photo boomed...there are quite a collection. (Mymaternity photos, Olive's newborn photos...)Ok, let's be honest I really don't stare at her for 15-20 minutes while we nurse...I am usually trying to squeeze in some work on my phone or ipad.Oh auto focus...how you always fail me. I am so excited to share a little peace of what dancing with Olive is like, and how much she loves it. (The video is HD so don't forget to change the settings to watch a better quality....and don't judge me for my song selection or off rythm dancing. haha)
Olive loves to help with laundry! (aka play with the door.)Gotta let that puppy out again! Now for some play time! I usually try to work in between keeping her out of trouble, but sometimes we sit and play the floor which usually ends in her wanting to tackle me, play tickles and get my hair.Off to them books...Post nursing cutie. She recently discovered I have been putting headbands on her...she's not always a fan. This girl LOVES hair...especially grabbing her puppy's hair, which he doesn't like so much. haha.My hair is usually in my face...I love this view, and my silly socks I wear at home because I don't like dirty feet.Love this mirror my mom gave Olive. The colors of this photo remind me of Beauty and the Beast for some reason...random.Last diaper change before our last nap.I thought of documenting through the evening but I was so exhausted from documenting the day that we decided to end her. It will be so neat later on to have all these photo to remember all the silly things we did in a day.
