It feels just like yesterday that I posted photos of Olive at 6 months old, yet she is such a different baby from just a few weeks ago! She officially has teeth, which are super cute until she gets distracted eating and bites me...ek! And she is climbing everything! I love how adventurous and curious she is but, man, is it exhausting. I do sometimes miss the days I could set her on the floor and she would play with her toys for a half hour. But it is so fun to see how excited she gets when she pulls her self up...on the couch, the chair, me, and well, anything she can get a good grip on. This girl is in love with her daddy, as you can clearly see. :)
Glad I got one good smile out of her. ;)
She really wants to let go and do it by her self...it is so scary though!! Mostly because she has fallen, a lot learning to stand up.
I was just telling my husband, Josh last night how I've always felt that she was very advanced physically but am really coming to find out she is intellectually too. She already understand that objects still exist when they are gone, which we discovered mostly with the remotes and other things that aren't baby safe toys. Even if we hide it she will go crawling around where ever we hid it looking for what her little heart desires. I think she is finally understanding "no" but still not that it means she cannot have what she wants. We have begun the "I'm not getting my way" cries and throwing little tantrums, which are hard to take seriously sometimes, and mostly end in me telling her we cannot through a fit when we don't get our way and give her something to get her mind of things. Let the days of small discipline begin, Lord give me grace with this girl!
Olive also has learned to play tug-a-war with our puppy, which is super great that they can entertain each other, but Olive loves to grab hair, so we are working on being gentle with our puppy. ;)
This past weekend we got out to take some photos of her in our yard where it had snowed for the first time and she was a little afraid of the cold wet snow but of course, her curiosity won over her fear because she immediately wanted to crawl around in it. Poor girl, she has very chapped cheeks from the cold weather....which I tried to soften a little in the photos but they are still there.
I love how the light caught the snow in this photo as Josh brushed it off her. So pretty. :) If she wasn't freezing in the sow I would have loved to photograph her more in the gorgeous light here!...But we didn't want a frozen baby. ;)
I love how much this girl is learning and can just sit, forever it seems, watching her explore and learn new things. She is becoming such a little girl and we are absolutely loving it!
