I've recently discover that there is a trail extremely close to our new place that can pretty much take you anywhere you want to go in the larger Denver area. If you are super ambitious you can ride from Thornton (where we live) all the way to Golden, CO (where a lot of climbing is). But you can also ride from where we live to downtown Denver. Right now this is my goal, to be able to ride 24 miles in a day, or 12 each way. The other day I went on this trail to see how far I could go. It was extremely ambitious for me especially since I haven't been riding my bike consistently since last fall haha. But I went anyway. I ended up riding about 8 miles there and then 8 miles back.
I have to say that my legs were pretty much jello after that, but it also felt SO good!
If I wasn't trying to time myself in seeing how fast I could ride 16 miles I probably would have stopped to take a lot more photos, not to mention actually bring my dslr. But I did take these photos with my iphone...kinda funky but I enjoyed them. :)
Hopefully by the end of the summer I'll be able to ride 24 miles in one day and not die haha.
